With Mother’s Day fast approaching the time has come to start thinking about what gift to purchase, if you haven’t already done so. We want it to show just how much she means and about how appreciative we are of her unwavering love and support.
This can be a busy time of year for the owners of beach huts. A large majority of beach huts in the United Kingdom are taken away for safekeeping in the Winter months to protect them from storms and other harsh elements. It is around this time when the huts are brought back in readiness for the warmer weather.
The passing of a member of your immediate family is never easy to deal with. We all deal with grief and mourning in our own way, and some find it easier to continue with their lives than others. There is no right or wrong method; the fact is that we are all different. Where we are similar is in the fact that we will all miss this special person and will look back with fond memories of the time we spent with them.
The majority of people soon become bored of looking at the same furniture, decorations, picture frames, ornaments and the way they are presented in a room. As the phrase goes “A change is as good as a rest”. Changing the furniture may not always be possible for financial reasons however you can change the layout of the room, perhaps moving the television to a different position as well as the sofa and coffee table.
We had our daughter visit with her husband on Sunday and during the afternoon, she requested that I get out some of our old photo albums. She said that she wanted to show the photos to her husband so that he could see the way various members of our family looked in the past. I was more than pleased to do so as I love to look through these albums and to reminisce.

When looking back to our childhood many of us have special and happy memories of some of the food that we were given by our parents and grandparents. And despite numerous attempts to replicate said dish, meal or dessert nothing ever quite compares. This can lead to many frustrations as we begin to really crave that elusive recipe.
We are a nation that loves animals and the majority of households in the United Kingdom have at least one pet. If you are one of these households, you’ll likely agree that this pet is very much part of the family. My parents ran an animal sanctuary when I was growing up where they would rescue stray and abandoned animals. My mum would often joke that she preferred animals to humans. I am pretty sure she meant it though.
We all need a little pick-me-up from time to time, some more often than others. I am somebody who massively enjoys going for long walks in the countryside and I nearly always return home in a happier mood than when I started. There are no doubt many reasons for this one of which has to be the benefits of being surrounded by nature. There is just something so calming about it.
The start of a new year often arrives with mixed emotions, depending on how you approach life. For some it is a time of new possibilities and opportunities; out with the old and in with the new as the saying goes. For others, it is not such a positive time as they struggle to return to normality after the fun and excitement of the festive period.
