After the bleakness of winter, it is always nice when spring arrives. In truth, the winter we have just had was quite mild and we didn't see many of the usual storms and snow. Spring is, even after a tame winter, a much cheerier season when people are able to get out and about on a much more frequent basis, and when we see a lot more sunshine in comparison to the previous few months. It also sees people changing their indoor decor to complement this new brighter period. One of the ways to do this is to change the pictures and artwork that are housed in your picture frames, and even potentially purchase new picture frames to really spruce up the room.
Ideas of artwork and pictures to frame in spring
Pictures of migrating birds returning for the season are something rather different. They could be in a print, photo or sketch format. There is just something awesome about seeing a bird in flight and to have that captured, framed, and then hung on your wall is sure to enhance the room.
Pressed flowers and leaves that are framed for a botanical display are always popular at this time of year. Flowers that have thin petals and less moisture press more easily. The types that are most commonly used are violets, pansies and daisies. It is advisable to avoid thick flowers such as roses and tulips unless you are an expert and experienced at pressing flowers as these usually require being split in half for the best effect.
For those of you that are blessed to have young children it's always nice to display their spring drawings and art. This might have been something that they produced at school or may have been something they have worked on at home. Either way they will be well chuffed to see their finished artwork proudly on display. It can make them feel valued and is likely going to encourage them to produce additional art. I just hope you have enough picture frames to put all their masterpieces in!
Spring is a time when many of us like to travel. It might be a long weekend away in Paris or a short trip closer to home to say Dorset, Devon or Cornwall. Photos from these trips could be hung on the walls to help remember these happy times. An ideal way to do this is in a multi-photo frame which enables you to have multiple photos showcased in one frame. If you had been to Paris it could include, of course, a photo of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, Palace of Versailles, Montmartre, and Bastille Market, to name a few. What an incredible multi-photo frame that would be!
You could also create a seasonal wreath print to include pastel ribbons, leaves, flowers and greenery.
Step into spring with a new look and feel to your home with plenty of colour and nature at its core.
