We all need a little pick-me-up from time to time, some more often than others. I am somebody who massively enjoys going for long walks in the countryside and I nearly always return home in a happier mood than when I started. There are no doubt many reasons for this one of which has to be the benefits of being surrounded by nature. There is just something so calming about it. It could be the rustling of the leaves and branches of the trees in the wind, the squirrels scuttling about having fun as they climb up and down the trees, the dogs enjoying their daily walk, and families enjoying a day out with their children and grandchildren. As we tend to spend a lot more time indoors during the cold winter months it is beneficial to have some of this beauty of nature framed and hung in our homes. We are then able to obtain the joy of nature whenever we want to, whatever the weather.
There are numerous benefits of bringing nature into your everyday life. These include improving your mood, improving your confidence and self-esteem, helping you to feel more relaxed and to reduce anxiety, and it helps to take you into a more positive mindset.
The additional benefits of experiencing nature when outside include helping you to become more active and physically fit, and helping people to feel less lonely as they are likely to see and possibly speak to people when out and about. As a family, we have met so many lovely people on our walks, some of which have since become long-term friends. We didn’t set out to do so and this has, therefore, been a bonus. There is a great chance that we will meet plenty more new people in the future as well.
When out and about with my family in our local woods during the weekend I was amazed at how many different shades of green were on show. The different flowers, bushes, trees and hedgerows each with their own shade of green. It was beautiful and inspirational. I thought about how much fun and enjoyment an artist would have in painting the scene.
There are numerous ways of framing nature. You could, as mentioned above, paint a picture and then frame it. You could take photos and then print and frame your favourite ones. There is also the option of framing certain items from nature such as pressed leaves, the bark from a tree, pinecones, as well as many additional items. These things are personal and, therefore, what is of interest to you with regards to being around nature would be ideal.
It goes without saying that nothing beats the real thing of being outside and surrounding yourself with the beauty of nature. For those times when for whatever reason we are unable to get out and about which is usually because of the weather, then these framed pictures, paintings or items of nature are a great second option and are sure to lift your spirits.
