You will notice that when you order a picture frame with a picture mount you work from the inside going outwards, so you start by entering the exact aperture size you require in millimetres. The size would normally be the exact size of your photo or artwork.
To calculate the aperture size dimensions you will need to measure your artwork exactly and enter the exact size you require in our software. We will then cut the mount aperture 3mm smaller on each side to allow an overlap - so your artwork sits neatly behind the aperture and doesn't fall through it. For example, if you artwork measures 400mm x 300mm you would enter this size in the aperture dimension boxes and we would cut the aperture 394mm x 294mm to allow an overlap of 3mm on all sides of your artwork.
Tip: To convert inches to millimetres simply multiply by 25.4. For instance, 20inches would be 20 x 25.4 = 508mm. 24.5inches would be 24.5 x 25.4 = 622mm, or use a free online conversion calculator. Don't worry about anything after the decimal point when entering your calculation.

Once you have entered your aperture dimensions you will then have the option to change the width of the mount borders. The default mount is set at 40mm wide for the top mount, but you can change this size if you wish.
Once in the shopping cart you have the option to increase the quantity of your order if you wish.
